Planetary reducer is an industrial product with a wide range of uses, which can reduce the speed of the hydraulic motor while increasing the output torque. The planetary reducer can be used as a supporting component in industries such as lifting, excavation, transportation, and construction. So in daily operation, what are the factors that affect the gear temperature rise?

Four factors causing the increase in temperature of planetary reducer gear oil:

        1. The viscosity of the selected gear oil is too large, causing difficulty in heat dissipation. Because the high-viscosity oil has a lower heat transfer effect, the lower-viscosity oil will increase the temperature significantly. Therefore, in the case of selecting a suitable load level, low viscosity gear oil should be selected as far as possible.

        2. For the newly installed gearbox, due to the need for a certain amount of running-in time, the equipment has not yet entered the normal wear stage, and the wear is large, which causes the temperature of the planetary reducer to rise. This temperature rise is a necessary stage for the normal operation of the equipment. Therefore, the first oil change period of the new gearbox is shorter, and the washed abrasive is taken out through the oil change.

       3. Too much oil and high oil level will affect the normal heat dissipation of the planetary reducer gear. Note: Too much or too little fuel will affect the heat dissipation effect.

       4. The gear box of the planetary reducer is overloaded, the oil film is broken, and there is a tendency to wear and fail. The friction and wear between the gear pairs are large, causing the temperature of the tooth surface to rise. Oils with appropriate viscosity grades or appropriate load grades should be selected according to the load conditions. For example, the selection of extreme pressure gear oils and high-viscosity oils is good for lubrication, but at the same time has the negative effect of poor heat dissipation.
